desire...
We all have that thing we are searching for, that eats away at us and keeps us up at night. For me it’s love of a man with a secondary need to be recognized as a writer. For others it’s weight loss, money, time, career, health, a child, beauty, recognition…etc. No one is without an external desire that drives them.
If we look beyond the proverbial carrot of desire, we’ll see the wounding that instilled the need. Perhaps it’s being told you were fat, ugly, poor, or a slob, the list goes on and on. Our unhappiness stems from proving we are not this or that or we are worthy. Imagine if you let it go? - If you allowed yourself to feel perfect in this moment. Because you are, perfect in this moment.
I’ve spent time with the rich, they are not happy. I’ve spent time with the famous, they are not happy. I’ve spent time with the beautiful, they are not happy.
Happiness can not be found outside ourselves, it’s time to eat the proverbial carrot and be set free.
