being mirrored...
On Sunday, Goom and I were kicking a soccer ball around in a park with a couple friends, when he came over pointing to a little girl who was crying because of a scratch she had received from a fall off her scooter.
He nudged me towards her.
“What? What do you want me to do?” I said gently, concerned for the girl even though she was being taken care of by her mother.
“I want you to go take care of her.”
“Why? Her mother’s there.”
“Because you take of everyone,” he said and then quickly went back to kicking the soccer ball.
I melted. There are moments as a mother when you question yourself. Wondering what kind of job you are doing. Hoping that even when you are tough, somehow they know it is for their greatest good.
A moment like this is an affirmation, that yes, you are doing things well.
He mirrored me in a most profound and unexpected way. I couldn’t ask for anything more than to be viewed as nurturing by my son; especially when I didn’t have a role model to learn from.

that is an honor i welcome, one mother to another, at a moment when a little boy's affirmation hovers overhead, blessing his mother in the bestest way ever.
much love back,

I think I'll stay...I'm feeling oogley-boogley, actually.
But it is so sweet that he feels that way about you, becos you are a loving, caring mum. Bless you dear.
Keep up the good things you do, and always add to it. Life is so beautiful. Live it to the fullest.
Thanks so much for your kind visit to my blog.
