crack of dawn (with a little divine help)...

Last week in my post “come hell or high water,” I wrote about my “dread” of waking up at 5:00am to start writing my book. Well strangely enough, for the past week I’ve been waking up on my own without an alarm clock and even stranger, each morning I wake up a little earlier. I’m also not tired throughout the day or in the evening so I get a little (much needed) down time to relax after putting the Goom to bed.

These are the little miracles that I am so thankful for. It shows me that I am on the right path and being assisted by Spirit.

My book is slowly unfolding, one word at a time.

That's a gorgeous pic. I'm glad the schedule is working for you. I would love to get up earlier than the little one, but I haven't been able to drag my butt out of bed. That could be because I have a toddler who insist that 11:00pm is a respectable bedtime for a two-year old no matter what mommy tries.

that is inspiring. One step at a time, right?

one step.........

Getting up early is beautiful thing. There is a perfect form of grace in that hour just before the sun comes up.

Rumi sez it better than I ever could.

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don't go back to sleep.

You must ask for what you really want.
Don't go back to sleep.

People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.

The door is round and open.
Don't go back to sleep.

I love that time of day--it feels like the world belongs to you. I'm not saying I jump out of bed every morning at that hour though :) Glad things are clicking!
In some strange show of support, I too am waking up at 5am EST.

But in my case, it's just the sound of the spirit of the paper being delivered.

All kidding aside, I am happy for you!

If something is right it usually happens by itself.
Great photo. For awhile years ago, we experimented with different times for writing - 4-5 am wakeup, night time writing, you name it, we tried it. @ some point, you find what's right for you. Sounds like you're on the right track!
Thank you all for your wonderful comments. I'm not sure how many of you come back and check for replies here...but I am always thankful to hear your wonderful thoughts through your well chosen words.

MUCH LOVE

First of all, I love the picture. Second, I'm jealous. I'm burning the candle at the other end, and I'm feeling sleep deprived all day long. I must find a way to go to bed earlier and get up earlier. You've inspired me to give it a go. (Starting tomorrow, obviously.)

Wonderful photo. I wish I could wake up early in the morning, feeling refreshed enough to be creative. Mornings is my worst time of the day but it is such a lovely peaceful time. I like to write children's books but I'm really an illustrator, which is my true passion!
I love your blog and I would like to put you on my creative blog list. I hope this is ok?
Best wishes, Jo.

I've had this same experience lately. Usually I can sleep FOREVER, but lately my body just wakes itself up at 5:30 AM. Weird. But it is a blessing. I've been able to get much more done. I hope you continue to be so blessed. :)
Stacey ~ oh lovely kindred one ~ thank you for your comments on my blog. I'm reading this post and I'm thinking, Yes! You are doing exactly what you're supposed to be doing. Isn't it wonderful? I wish you much success with your book and I'm looking forward to keeping in touch. Have an inspiring day! :) xx

Just like the "crockpot stage," I love the point in a work when it energizes me to get out of bed in the morning.

This is the joy non-writers will never know.

Good for you. I only manage five minutes or so here and there for any of my story writing. Guess since I'm trying to find work again I should start waking up earlier too.
