"If you want to create, you have to sacrifice superficiality, some security and often your desire to be liked, to draw up your most intense insights, your most far reaching visions."

Awesome photo!

I know the book... I tried to read it close on 20 years ago, but couldn't stay with it.
Every woman I knew at the time was raving about it.... but not me.
Yet reading this quote now, I wonder why it didn't resonate at the time.

Thanks for taking the time to visit with me.
I'm going to have a little read here now.

See you again :)

That's the best quote I've heard in a long time. Being creative does mean taking risks.

I could never get through that book either, and then I bought it on tape. I listened to it twice! I think because it is so full of stories and story telling, it appeals to the ear more than to the eye (at least for me!)

Not a high price to pay for creative privilege. Nice face painting, a child as a friendly animal!

Hi,
I have this book too but I have only read bits of it...
Maybe I should listen to it and Cd as well!
This is so very true, that you do have to make sacrifices, to be a creative free spirit...
I have also chosen the creative, unconventional path.
I love the photo and words on this post. Just wonderful!

It is the sacrifice of security that I fear the most. But I'm working on it. Thanks for sharing that quote, Stacey!

Great quote, I aspire to run with the wolves. ;-]
Clarissa is a brilliant Jungian. Have you heard her tell stories? She has a fantastic voice. I can't get enough of her story telling.
Thanks for visiting me and introducing yourself. Funny, I know exactly where you reside. Generally. We lived in L.A. most of our adult lives, hubby and I, raised kids, worked our tails off, then escaped to Oregon to finally enjoy the outdoors in grand style. Good to meet you.
